Elcora Advanced Materials

graphene demand increasing day by day…

Mining - Ragedara Mine

In early 2014, Elcora Advanced Material acquired the full operational control and a 40% equity interest in Sakura Graphite (PVT) Limited, who operates the Ragedara mine in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka graphite is very high quality with many unique properties. It is suitable for use in many high-end graphite applications. The mine is already in production and currently yields about 500 tonnes per year.

Refining - Ragedara Refinery

Elcora developed its own unique graphite refining process that does not require the use of acids or alkaline systems. This process is very environmentally friendly and yields higher quality graphite that has not been oxidized and will withstand high temperatures.

Graphene - R & D

Graphene is a single sheet of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal honeycomb pattern. It is the thinnest material known to man, and is fairly described as a game changing in regards to its properties: it is stronger than diamond and about 100 times stronger than finest steel in the same size; it conducts heat and electricity more efficiently than copper or any other material known. It is flexible and almost transparent.

global demand of graphite

Elcora Advanced Materials

Elcora Advanced Materials has 2 global locations of Canada & Sri Lanka. We have more than 70 employees. Elcora targets the li-ion batteries and graphene markets, with producing graphite mine.

  • Both our graphite and graphene have proven qualities, leaders in the industry.
  • Our refining process has a very low environmental impact.

Elcora’s Quality

At Elcora, we understand the importance of quality control. Both our graphite and graphene products have gone through intensive testing and showed fantastic quality results.

Elcora’s Graphene

As tested by Coulometrics, LLC, Elcora’s graphite is a natural fit for making lithium ion battery anodes.

Elcora had the honor to have its graphene tested by Centre for Advanced 2D Materials (CA2DM), previously known as Graphene Research Centre as part of a comprehensive program to analyze graphene produced worldwide in an effort to create a graphene standard. The results were presented at the international conference “Graphene Canada 2015, held in Montreal, October 14-16, 2015. The detailed study will be published in the near future.

Elcora has been structured to become a vertically integrated graphite & graphene company that mines, processes, refines graphite, and produces both the graphene and end graphene applications. Elcora’s graphene production system is suitable for use with many different graphite sources and has produced industry leading quality graphene.
